The Boonthamurra People have been the custodians of land and waters located in the Channel Country of what is now South-West Queensland for thousands of years, passing our knowledge, values and responsibilities on through each generation.
On 25 June 2015, the Federal Court of Australia formally acknowledged our connection to country and our inherent rights as Traditional Owners by handing down a positive determination of native title. Learn more about our native title by clicking here.
Following the native title determination, the Boonthamurra Native Title Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC was established to hold and manage the native title rights and interests of the Boonthamurra People. In this role, we continue to care for our country and our people. We engage with people who seek to do business on Boonthamurra Country. We incorporate traditional values and customs into a modern paradigm, and we continue to pass on knowledge – both old and new – to the next generation.
